#145 IKEA Trådfri Hack with Gateway, Raspberry connection Andreas Spiess Published on Jul 1, 2017 In video #140 we hacked the new IKEA Trådfri Smart lighting system using the remote control as a basis. It worked, but had some major disadvantages. Today, we will use an IKEA gateway and do it right! - We will eliminate the problems of the current hack - We will install and pair the gateway with two different bulbs - We will learn how the system communicates - We will switch the lights using Node-Red on our Raspberry Pi. Like that, we can use MQTT or many other tools to switch the lights - We will switch the lights with a normal Linux command - We will install a Python wrapper. You can use this wrapper as a basis for your own programs - We will see the CoAP protocol , which was introduced in the last video, in action - At the end, as promised, I will reveal a “hot” secret about the IKEA bulbs. We also will use AdvancedIP Scanner to find the IP address of our Gateway Supporting Material and Blog Page: http://www.sensorsiot.org/145-ikea-tr...

You can control several motors from the same shutter module but you can't control them independently if only using one controller. You would also be looking at 24 volt power brick and motors if you want to control multiple motors from the same controller. I use 3 x 12V bricks, 3 x 12V motors and 3 x Qubino flush shutter DC. This allows me to control the roller blinds independently from each other, anywhere between 0 to 100% open/closed. Roller blind motor(s). Should have programmable endpoints and directional movement control by inverting polarity. https://www.m.nu/tubmotor-20m m-p-2331... Roller blinds. ;) I use blinds from IKEA called "Tupplur". The motors come with standard adapters for 20 mm inner diameter pipes. I use the 3D-printed ones from https://www.m.nu/adapterset-till-20mm... to fit my IKEA blinds perfectly. The m.nu shop also sell almost complete kits like this one: https://www.m.nu/paket-styra-rullg ard... (12V, 1 or 2 motors) or this one https://www.m.nu/paket-styra-rullgard... (24V, 1 to 3, or more motors). You also select what adapters you wish to have to make the motor fit your blinds. You will need some way to control z-wave devices (like rPi+usb/gpio-adapter) to make the kit complete.
